I think there was; at least my M-15 #517 - which was a 1993 boat IIRC - came with a Honda 2, 4-stroke that I remember thinking they'd gotten along with the boat (I bought the boat from the original owner). I have the paperwork somewhere, but without digging it up, I think it might have been a 1992 motor. There was no clutch option then, and it definitely looked older and more square; less "evolved" aesthetically.
