Hi Scott, I concur. When I rebuilt my mast using a Dwyer section, the old Jerry mast top fitting did not fit the new mast. I had bought the new Dwyer mast top fitting, but preferred to use the old, original one. So, I carefully cut the sheaves off the Dwyer mast top base, cut the old sheaves from the original mast top base, and put the Dwyer mast top fitting and the old Jerry fitting together, for the best of both worlds. While I was at it, I moved the hole for the forward sheave forward by a little more than 1 X hole diameter to stay in solid metal. The reason was, I wanted the main halyard to have clearance at the top of the mast, and not be dragged over the mast corner. I wanted it to come off the sheave and lead freely down the fore side of the mast. It took a bit of machining, but I accomplished my aim. The Dwyer fitting fits in the top of the mast, as designed, while on top of it sits the old Jerry fitting, giving me larger sheaves, and now a free lead downward on the fore side of the mast.
