I'm guessing the forecast at that time was for Wednesday? It didn't turn two blustery until late in the day. There was a small craft advisory but sailing across East Penobscot Bay was uneventful, and Busca was slightly under canvassed with only storm jib and reefed main:

The lobstah buoys, toggled, meaning double floats tied together with about 20-40 feet of line were very thick and it took a lot of concentration to avoid snagging one while holding a course between the rocky ledges. That night was noisy and blustery and rolly in the lee of Magathery Island, but the next day was the start of something beautiful, with great company in Doug, Rick, Abbey, and Thomas and Kate, weather, scenery, and food.
