I understand that the Rhodes 22 has a sliding mount, although it may be a little bigger than what you want. www.rhodes22.com or www.rhodes22.org for the owner’s site. I have a Garelick aluminum mount. I choose the one with the max adjustment range. As the mounting pad was too thick for my 2hp Honda, I used a 2x8. My pad is a little taller than the factory mount, in case I needed to trim it down a bit. When I have the mount in the top position, the mounting pad is just an inch or two aft of the transom. The swing arms are almost vertical. If I tilt the Honda up, the top end of the motor is inside the cockpit. It hangs several inches over the transom,. It is very easy to access if I had to work on it. (Never have.) I normally sail with it a notch or two down, so as to prevent interference with the traveler bridal. It is not far from the transom. I really like the adjustable range of the mount, and can drop it to the lowest position if I need to go to the bow and keep the prop in the water. However I think Jerry had the best idea. Just use the old fixed mount and a piece of wood as a spacer to move the OB back a little. I wish he had posted it before I installed the adjustable mount. steve Steve R.
