Interesting stuff. I think the lights are the biggest drain on my battery. A small solar collector could probably keep up with those enough to extend the time one can operate independent of shore by several days.
BTW....that type of web site is ideal for a boat forum like this one. Imagine the same information found on the MSOG, plus an interactive forum like this one (web based....not email based) connected directly to it, and the ability to post photographs. Something to think about.
