You know, that might be something for Bob to consider....a slight reduction in bow pulpit height may make garage storage easier for a lot of people; don't know. My garage is too small no matter what, so I'm just outta luck. I'll have to keep those dims in mind if I ever build a garage ;-)

With the tongue jack all the way down, the bow pulpit height is 7'1" above the floor and is still the highest point on the boat. I put the boat at a slight angle to keep the motor bracket out of the wall and remove the tongue to fit boat and trailer inside the garage, which is 20.5 feet long inside with the door closed. The mast is outside hung under the eves. There is a little clearance at each end of the boat and trailer, so it would actually fit in a 20 foot long space, in case anyone wants to know. The width occupied in this situation is 8 feet. So in a nutshell, the M17 with bow pulpit on the current 2005 Pacific trailer requires minimum storage LxWxH dimensions of 20' x 8' x 7' 2", not including mast, which is ~ 22 feet long. Regarding tongue weight, positioning the trailer axle center line 63.5" ahead of the rear of the trailer resulted in a 202 lb. tongue load with the boat empty and no mast.
