I'd replace it at the end of the sailing season. I think chances are
good that the rigging is fine--there are much older boats than yours
sailing with original rigging. If it's been a fresh water boat, more
the better. The rigging is pretty inexpensive considering. For peace of mind,
replace it over the winter. Jerry will make you up some nice fresh
wires. My 2 cents.

I've always wanted to sail up in your neck of the woods. Maybe I can
get a couple of the guys from around here to come visit some time
(Randy? Larry? Gary?)...
>That would be great! I have been emailing Larry and know that he is quite close. Where are you Tom? It would be grand fun to get a group of Montys together on Okanogan lake. There is 75 miles of lake and some pretty country.

Also good advice Marc. Thanks for the welcome as well. That is the way I naturally am inclined....but would love to recover from the main purchase before another right away. Although I managed to have enough money left over to buy the four pieces of equipment our boat did not have.....gimballed beer holders. Got that covered now. Beer spillage is a serious situation.

Have fun.
