Does anyone have any experience with a TP10 or ST1000 auto tiller on their M15
or 17? I take long trips single handed and need a break as well as control of
the tiller while changing the jib or reefing.

Hi Norm.
I have an older tiller pilot but am not sure of he model number. I will
be sailing this afternoon and will have a look.
Whichever one I have, I am completely in love with the thing. For
someone that likes to solo, it is a true charm. I even use it when I
have guests on board. It is very user friendly, has a manual/auto
mode.....it has a tacking option and will take you through a 100 degree
tack. I use it just to hold the tiller steady for some things. It has 10
degree course adjustments with a simple button push. I find mine holds
an excellent course as long as the wind stays steady within 10 degrees
or so.
The only comments or critiques I would make is that it can sometimes be
annoyingly noisy and would prefer if the selected course was maintained
through a compass bearing rather than whatever method is used now.
I can only say I use mine all the time, it does what I want it to do and
makes my sailing and motoring days a lot more enjoyable. I highly
recommend any version of one of these devices to anyone. I have named my
helmsman buddy OTTO. ~:0)
Have fun.
