The M17 was on my short list of boats, but in the end I opted for a
Com-Pac 23 diesel, and surprise, she needed her own slip as rigging &
launching proved to be a rather daunting task. At 3,200 pounds (less
equipment & provisions), the CP23D proved too much at the ramp for this
old guy. I am happy with the boat, but it's an extra $2,400/year for
the slip... you can buy a lot of beer for that much money. OTOH, it
would be possible to stay on the boat for a month or so, and the 7
gallon diesel tank was is more than enough for an entire season. Since
shopping for a sailboat is part of the fun, take your time.
