It sounds weird but Sno Bol toilet bowl cleaner  works great on dark specks 
on fiberglass.  It basically has hydrochloric  acid in it.  And it gives your 
boat that fresh feeling.  I don't know  what it does to gelcoat or fiberglass 
over a long period but the friend who told  me about it has been doing it for 
years.
