Steve... you got that idea right here... how do i know? Because i did the same
thing for my Nissan right after the idea was given here. I had to replace
everything i just sold with my 2-stroke Johnson... and the guy didn't even need
it but i threw it in as i figured i didn't need it either. But i kept spilling
gas all over me (and my beautiful first mate once...not fun) when pouring into
the tank from my gas can (i guess since they are now plastic they aren't cans
anymore... Geezer Speak?) so when i read this idea several months ago i took
advantage of it.

  Harry,

I "borrowed" an idea from someone, I do not recall if was here or the TSBB site.

I have a 3-gallon remote outboard tank, a length of 1/4 inch fuel hose, an
outboard primer bulb, a plastic lawn mover shut off valve, and some hose
clamps. The shut off valve is at the end of the hose.

When the Honda runs out of gas, I can squeeze the bulb 16 times (IIRC) and fill
the tank up. It is quicker to do than to describe. I hold the tiller and bulb
in one hand and position the valve so that the fuel enters the tank. Be careful
with that Honda gas cap, they can come loose and some have been lost. You may
want to buy a spare.

Most of the time I do not need much extra gas, so I carry a red Nalgene bottle
made to hold fuel for a camp stove. The bottle holds about as much as the tank.
A full tank lasts more than an hour. I can go anywhere on my home lake with
that much gas. The 3-gallon tank is overkill, but it is the smallest I could
find.

Hello: I have ordered a 2hp Honda for my new M15(Li'L Nan,hull#707).I
would like a remote fuel tank to hook up to.The local Honda dealer is
willing to modify things but has never done it before.A mechanic friend
has said that the fuel pump rate of flow will be the problem-I won't
have gravity on my side.Has anyone done this? Thanks, Harry.
