I added a boom kicker on my M15 to hold my boom up while the main is down. You can see a picture of it on the Montgomery site: http://msogphotosite.com/MSOG/b15norm/b15norm1.jpg The boom kicker consists of two black fiber glass rods attached just forward of the boom vang. The boom kicker is holding up the mast in the photo without a topping lift. My M15 is in the foreground. Sean's buddy Scott brought his M17 ( Sean's old boat) to Ventura for an Anacapa Island sail last year. The white bag on my cabin top just below the boom kicker is a asymmetrical spinnaker.
