Hi Bones,
Your method sounds simple, but I can't envision how you did this. My 2004
Pacific trailer has a padded channel under all but the aft six inches or so
of keel, so that leaves only one place to use a jack on the keel itself. I
suppose separate jacks on the keelson (or whatever the small ridge is
called) at either end of the keel would lift the boat high enough that
hefty sawhorses ("sawmooses" of Tom Howe in the MSOG archives) could be
placed fore and aft of the jacks so the trailer could be removed. Maybe one
could work on or inspect the centerboard if the trailer were left under, but
the boat would have to be way up there, and presumably braced laterally.

I've raised my M17 off the trailer bunks using a floor jack and a
cushioning 2" x 6" piece of lumber under the keel. Worked fine.
