John, take a second and Breath! I didn't "request" Steve to do anything. I
just took exception to him telling the combatants to stop.
I also take exception to you calling me stupid. After all you don't even
have the names straight.

Rick, I think your request to Steve P. to butt out is stupid. So, he's
not the list moderator; so what?
Do you wait for a cop to render assistance or to keep the peace? Or, do
you step in and say, 'Can I help?', or 'Move on, folks.'
I bought a Monty new back in '04, and don't have time to recite answers
to seven questions for no one in particular.
I checked references before I bought, and had a painless process. I
recommend the same for any prospective new buyer.
Steve's pissing contest with Bob should have remained offline between
Steve and Bob. Poor taste for Steve to bring it into public (though a
comment such as, 'I've been disappointed with Bob E. because...' would
seem fine, helpful, and appropriate).
