Jim- it's not too much of a job. Duplicate the rails, and you need a helper to bend the rails ahead of the drilling and bolting operations. The hard part is getting the ends of the gap in the middle to line up. You can do this by starting the bolting at the ends (transom and bow), then when you get about 18" or so from the center ends, using a clamp, line them up with two doublers, inside and out, about a foot or so long. This will make a nice, even bend. Do this in two operations; the first one just for the drilling, putting in about half of the bolts (10-32 round heads), then unbolt, dust off the deck, redrill and countersink the rails, then put on a good bead of bedding and bolt down. try to have an excess of bedding (polyurethane, NOT silicone) so that there is no way that water can lay under the rail. Since the hjull/decl is already drilled, use these as a pattern for drilling the rails by using a long 3/16 drill bit which will get the drill motor lower so it won't hit the hull. Wwhen you drill and bolt the rails then reomove them, countersink all the holes with a 3/8 countersink so the plugs will fit tightly, then redrill all the holes with a # 12 bit, which is about fifteen thousands oversize. This way you can push the bolts thru the rail by hand and not have to drive them in. This works well on fiberglass, also. Glue the plugs in; epoxy is best. Pipe cleaners work better than Q tips.
