Bones,
I don't have the winch out of the boat yet. It does turn although not easily. I was told by the previous owner that it may have a couple of stripped gears, but I bet it could be reworked in a foundry/machine shop. I'll keep you posted.

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Do you know if your centerboard winch is operational? Is it out of the boat?
If so, you could dis-assemble and inspect it to determine the worn parts internally. I'll bet Bristol Bronze can re-make any worn item thus keeping this rare winch in service. You can count on me to order a duplicate of any part that could be re manufactured.

Larry, I know what you mean about yellow hulled boats, they are unique! I was looking at the full color NorSea 27 brochure and there is an early model that is that same shade of pale yellow.

I do wish to do a cruise in northern Minnesota this summer. I need to check out marina and ramp facilities and organize a plan of attack. I am leaning toward June or July. More thoughts to follow.

Happy New Year all.

Bones
