Greetings,

I have just joined your group.  I have longed enjoyed the design and works of
Lyle Hess.  I attended the Lyle Hess Rendevous at Vera's Landing a couple of
years back.  In addition to the Bristol Channel Cutters, Falmouth Cutters, and
NorSea 27's, there was a great representation of M15 and M17's.  I had the
opportunity to meet Bob Eeg and a year later met him again right after that
miserable rainy Annapolis Boat show.

I live on Bogue Sound, just down from Beaufort NC.  What is it they say? "a
nice little drinking community with a boating habit..." I currently own a
NorSea 27 that I am in the process of selling.  But I'm not here to make a
sales pitch.  I have found that this area has some limitations on sailing.....
3-4 feet of water.  So, without boring you with the rest of the reasons, I am
now looking at the M-17 as my next sailboat.  I was wondering if there is
anyone here that is close to this area that has a M-17 that would like to show
it off.  I have printed off just about everything I can find about this
marvelous craft, but I would like to see one up and personal.

Thanks. I look forward to more discussions in the near future.... hopefully as
an owner.

Regards and fair winds.

Joe

ps It was pretty cool to call the number at Montgomery Boats and have Bob
answer the phone.  jm
