I know that this is a boat forum, but the mention of British Sports Cars
reminded me of the 1968 red MGB that I bought new and kept running for 18
years.
Get to know a car pretty well in that time. It was the epitome of 40's
engineering, and they mixed rust into the metal at the factory, but I loved it
and
it gave me many years of fun. Something in the "chroming the garbage can"
theory, however. In my case it was red paint. I bought my M-17 pretty new
too, and hope it gives me as much pleasure, although the garbage can analogy
doesn't seem to fit.
