Hi Bert,

Like Rick, I installed a hatch on the port side of the  cockpit seat, 
aft of the sail locker . 

I did this to gain access for mounting a lift motor mount.

Installing the lift mount then became very easy with good access so that 
I could install a backing plate plus reach all the fasteners.

Later, the area, now easily accessible, became the hidey-hole for 
storing my cleaning bucket, and cleaning materials. 

T'ain't hard to do and is a big improvement.  Just be sure that the 
dimensions of the rectangular hatch you want to buy match the space 
available aft of the sail locker lid before you start to cut...
