I have found another resource when I needed to ship my M-17 from Colorado to Wisconsin. There's a web site called uship.com, built by the same guys that did ebay. You place a request to ship something (boats, cars, boxes, etc,), and various shippers, small and large, place bids for your shipment. But you have to be ready to ship -- usually the shippers will say something like "I am already in your area on Monday, can I pick it up before noon?". The good thing is every shipper has a feedback profile from previous shippings, so you can see what other people thought about them. You have no obligations until you accept a bid.
