Hey California Montys!!! Join us the end of this month for a Thurs thru
Sunday Channel Islands Harbor(Oxnard)/ Ventura Harbor/ and Anacapa Island
sail.
We'll be arriving on Wed night at Channel Islands harbor to join Capt Howie
and his Socal Potters (which includes numerous Montys) for four days of
sailing and friendship. We've made this trip the last two years in a row and it
 was
a blast. Good sailing breezes both times. Our plan, tentative to weather
conditions of course, is to sail up to Ventura Harbor on Thursday and overnight

at Ventura Isle Marina returning on Friday. Sat morning those that are only
making it a one day event will arrive and join in for the annual trek out and
back to Anacapa Island. We'll overnight Sat night in Channel Islands Harbor
and then pull out and pack up on Sunday morning. This year the dates fall over
Labor Day Weekend. Bring the spouse! Lots of time for hanging out at the
docks, cooking out on the boats, maybe dinner at the Whale's Tail where you can

sail right up to the docks and eat overlooking your beautiful boat....like a
real "yachtie" hahaha. Channel Islands Harbor has been the most small boat
friendly place we've been. Ventura is beautiful, although, not quite as easy on
the pocket book. You will need to have liability insurance on your boat
(300,000) in order to secure a slip up there, but you really should have that
anyway and it's not too expensive.

The sail from CIH to Ventura is an easy 7 miles up the coast. The Anacapa
Island daysail is about 11 to 12 miles each way. Last year conditions were
calm enough that some boats dropped anchor and had lunch out there before
returning. We've always had pretty good conditions at Anacapa but we have been
assured that it can get "sporting" on the trip home sometimes.

Consider joining us and the Socal Potters. At last months San Diego
"kickback Cruise" we had three Montys attend and we had a blast.

So.....ROLL CALL!!!! Who's gonna join us?????
