Hi,

I have been lurking for several weeks. Just returned to Washington State
(San Juans) from College Station, Texas.

I love the Yahoo forums, great feature, easy to manage. I belong to two
Potter forums there.

I was waiting for this email based format to mature into something with a
tad more zing.
Bound to happen eventually.
I have regularly lurked and occasionally contributed to the trailer sailor
forum that Todd speaks of.
Personally, I have always found the 'tree' style of navigation a little
trying.
I have also spent some time on the style of (Messing About) forum that Frank
hosts. It is a lot more intuitive
and flows much easier. With Franks forums the only negative that might
relate to me personally is this
overall 'churchy' kind of feel. The Trailer Sailors that Todd frequents
doesn't seem that way from my perspective.
I will support either format that ends up growing....but I would prefer the
Messing About angle. My 2 cents.

...oh and one nice thing about the Messing About format is you can choose an
option in your settings that sends you a single email to let you know
someone has contributed to a thread you started or have contributed to. You
then just click on a link that takes you to that specific conversation. I
like that.

BTW...BOB....and more news of Willy? Stories or images?

I don't want to dampen the enthusiasm for the Montgomery Forum, but
consider this as me suggesting an alternative?

We now have two Montgomery sites:

http://www.msog.org/

http://www.msogphotosite.com/

The owner's registry:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Montyowners/

This email list and now the trailer sailer forum. By my count that is
at least 5 different Internet resources that doesn't include the
various owner sites.

It may be time we consider consolidating all these under one roof. The
guy who hosts my company website has this site, which includes most of
the features we have and want (photos, forums, etc). There is a lot
there when you start looking:

http://www.messing-about.com/index.php

Of note is the forums (which now hosts personal blogs):

http://www.messing-about.com/forums/

These forums work different than the Trailer Sailer type (includes
photos, etc.), and in my opinion, the threads are easier to navigate.
Less clicking. I keep track of about 5 or 6 forums and most use this
structure.

Anyway, Frank has a Potter, but knows knows Montgomery's. I think he
can offer a good alternative to what we have grown into. Something to
consider.
