Larry,

I would love to meet you guys for the San Juan Islands cruise but it is too
soon
to commit. It is a very long drive from Huntsville, Texas to the Seattle area
especially towing a deep keel M17 with a hard dinghy on the roof rack.
Griselda, my M17, is one of the origonal fin keel boats and with 39" draft so,
some kind of dinghy is a necessity. Thumbelina, my "Fatty Knees 9" (sail and
oars) is a Lyle Hess design and tows like a dream so, it might be just enough
drag to slow the boat down to what the Keel/CB M17s can do.

At this time, Griselda is still on the hard but, I hope to have her back in the
water in a few weeks. I bought her from my Brother this Summer and she had not
been in the water in over 15 years so there was a lot to do. Brother and I
spent many a pleasant afternoon on Lake Travis when she was still in the water
so, she is an old friend.

I did some cruising in the San Juans in the early 70s and found it one of the
most beautiful Places I have ever been. I am su
re things have changed a lot
but, not the natural beauty, the strong currents or the need for good foul
weather gear. My "baby Brother" lives in the area and sails a Hobie Vagabond
on
Lake Washington so, maybe he could be coerced into going along.

I will keep following the plans and as time gets closer to the cruise date, I
may be able to plan the trip. My bride has some serious health issues so we
cannot plan things too far in advance.
