Hi Phil,

The pivot pin will keep the centerboard from falling out. If your trailer 
doesn't get in the way, another option to lowering the centerboard is to dig a 
hole under it. If you replace the cb pendent, the last several inches of the 
end that attaches to the centerboard is de-cored. This is so that when you tie 
the knot there is still enough room for the knot to pass up/down freely in the 
centerboard trunk.

What is the best way to check the line that raises and lowers the keel
on a M 15?  The only way I can think of is to jack the boat up high
enough to drop the keel, but what can it rest on so it does not fall?
