Ron, This past summer I used VS721 on the bottom on our M17. The boat was in a fresh water slip from May - Sept. We live in the Northern part of Idaho and our water temp is typically in the 50's for most of the summer, mid-60's for July and August. In prior years I did not put anything on the bottom for antifouling protection. Overall I was pleased with the results of VS721. I didn't stop bottom growth from happening (I do think it slowed it down) but it certainly made cleaning the bottom much easier as the end of the season.
A little bit of VS721 goes a long ways. A 16oz bottle is enough for 4 applications below the water line. Having studied up a bit, mostly at TrailerSailor, I find mixed reviews leading me to hold hopeful, but still somewhat minimal expectations of these two products: Aurora VS721 Bottom Coat, and Easy On Bottom Wax. Does anyone have fresh water experience with, or preference for, either of these products, or an alternative they'd like to share? I'm currently inclined to try the VS721, and have located a nearby dealer. It seems West may have Easy On. I'm following the awning/boom tent discussions, and plan to deploy something come spring.
