I have truly appreciated all the cash and energy Bill has put into the MSOG
site. A very fine thing.

I might understand where Bill could be with all this. Even if we came up
with the pesos Bill requires to support his space, he might be at a point
where the work is not all that fun anymore.....?
I own and pay for my own domain....and host some other folks image pages. I
know the kind of work that can go into all this.

Franks appearance is a good thing. (Yo Frank, how's things?)
I have been a part of two of his sites in the past. The format is wonderful.
It is web based. You can choose to get email notifications on threads you
are part of....or not. Easy to post images along with your text...etc. It
is my person favourite format for any group discussion or image sharing. It
is a smooth and fairly user friendly place.

For what's it's worth, this could be a good thing for everyone involved.
Bill and the group.
If Frank is one thing, he is a solid bloke. No worries there.
....and no, it was not me that contacted Frank about this situation. But
whoever did....good idea....I wish I thought of it.

Subject: M_Boats: New Montgomery Owners Site - maybe

By way of introduction, I'm actually a Potter owner, but also a
webmaster with a small hosting company. Had a used Monty 17 become
available before my Potter 19, I would have been a Monty owner! So I
have long been interested in the Montgomerys.

I have been encouraged by some Montgomery owners to see if I could
create a self-sustaining site similar to some of my other sites, such
as http://messing-about.com, that would provide some of the benefits
you are getting, but all in one spot.

Bill had a notice on the MSOG photo site that encouraged websurfers to
download the content prior to his closing the site. I downloaded the
site, so I do have a copy of it on disk. That notice doesn't give me
the right to republish his (or your) work, but it would give me access
to the pictures and text if you give me permission to re-post them.

Last night, I started creating a site at http://MontgomeryOwners.com
It is still in the rough, initial stages, and only has a forum, event
calendar, and bookstore. I'm planning to add a photo gallery that you
can add your pictures to and caption yourself, articles such as those
found on some of the other sites (copyrights permitting), a links page
for linking your sites, and possibly personal "boat pages" -- where
you can create a page on the site dedicated to your boat.

There are a lot of features I can add if there's interest. If you'd
like to have input on building the community, let me know. Either
here, or by registering in the forums at http://montgomeryowners.com
