Hello,
Aptana consumes a lot of resources on Win. Start is very slow and Ram
consumption is quite impresive
Try to have both Aptana plus Illustrator or Photoshop or FireFox. FireFox also
consumes a lot.
It's definitivly the problem of Java but also of people who develop on PC. They
do not care to much about resources.

Yes, I know, but that's only because of Linux.. On Win (and on Mac, I think)
Java is a lot slower...

      I agree with you, guys..
Even if is a bit slow during startup, because it's written in java, it's
the best choice I can think about..
THe ideal thing will be a C++ version of Aptana, but I don't really think
they're thinking about it :P

I like it on windows. but I develop on a mac. I have been flip flopping
between bbedit and textmate. I like some of the advance features in bbedit and
the refined interface but textmate just gives me more power easier.

I was going to say the same thing. And it works well. I enjoy it as
an enviroment.

There is also https://jside.dev.java.net/ which i haven't tried.

Hi, I have largely developed in PHP, and find the Zend IDE
awesome for
this, it checks the script for errors in real time, gives code
hints,
and even gives you function hints to your own functions you have
              written in the script.

I use Zend IDE for javascript as well, as it at least
color-codes, and
does bracket-match highlighting. As I use mootools more and more,
I am
thinking: is there a Javascript editor that does for Javascript
what
Zend IDE does for PHP, and are there any that have some kind of
              Mootools plugin?

              Thanks,

              Matt.
