I would absolutely go with Forties and Fifties horror/sci-fi material. It seems to be impervious to trends in the hobby, and continues to gradually be increasing even beyond what I thought were obscene price levels just a couple of years ago. I would also invest in posters by the Mexican artist Cabral. His material is wonderful, and I think it will appeal to future buyers from the Gen X crowd once they reach their peak buying potential. (Check out GHOST WORLD for some of Cabral's work...)     The modern stuff is indeed going to be pretty much worthless, except for a few select titles, and even those will be suspect due to the massive amounts of dupes out there. The new titles seem to have the opposite value-driven effect of a "vintage" poster: the prices of SPIDER MAN or TITANIC peak when the movie is in its first run and there's lots of buzz going on, and then drop like stones when things cool off, unlike much older material which increases in value with age. Interesting backwards phenomenon...    Of course, if I WASN'T doing for investment value, I'd drop the whole 10K on a copy of the 1933 SUPERNATURAL one sheet, if I could find one and get it that "cheap"....
