Two good ones are:

Advise and Consent -- Otto Preminger
The Great McGinty -- Preston Sturges

On a side note, as a lobbyist here in DC, I can't wait until the elections are over!!

Tom,

What a sly ploy! Opening a movie-related back door to the political-discussion horror show...

While I found JFK to be even more confused than the events it attempted to portray, I loved ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN, although I'm sure there's a lot of interpretation and dramatization there and it does take just one viewpoint, but hey, it was a drama... a movie... and so it was entitled. A darn good yarn, well done, with just enough social consciousness to make you feel like your time was better spent than watching, say,  HALLOWEEN 38 - THE FINAL CHAPTER.

Of course, a discussion of favorite political movies could easily lead to someone mentioning FAHRENHEIT 9/11 and then we would be off to the races... so, no... let's not go there. That's all everyone else has been doing for the last 9 months. In some ways its been pretty cool that MOPO has been a haven from all that.

I just hope that it will be a clear cut victory so that we don't have our poor tattered and sadly-degraded democratic process completely destroyed by another court-decided election. So, whomever wins, I hope it is by a decisive number in both the popular vote and the electoral college.

And, of course,  by "whomever" I mean John Kerry!

Sorry. Couldn't resist. Call it equal time allowed in response to Diana's stunt.
I will say no more.

Subject: [MOPO] Political Movie?

Ok, we can't talk politics. What is your favorite political movie? Nixon, JFK, All The Presidents Men?
Regards,
Tom Pennock :)
