I wanted to let you know that this week on eBay (ending 11/16) I am selling a really amazing collection of 8" x 10" vintage stills. We know we are VERY lucky to have been consigned this single owner collection of 8" x 10" stills, 75% of which are from before 1945 (and the ones from after 1945 are really choice!). This collection was assembled over a period of many decades, and many of the stills were purchased in the 1960s. Most were purchased in New York City at that time, and the person who assembled the collection would go to memorabilia stores, and search through many thousands of stills, only buying the "very best of the best". Looking through what is offered, it is very obvious that this is likely the finest collection of vintage stills ever offered on eBay at one time by a single seller. THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE HIGH QUALITY VINTAGE STILLS FROM YOUR FAVORITE MOVIES OR STARS, including many that are rarely offered for sale. You will find reproductions of some of these elsewhere, but it is doubtful you will find other original examples of these (and you might not see them again for some time to come!).
There are many, many sellers of 8x10 stills and some of them (either knowingly or unknowingly) sell reissue or reproduction stills as originals. WE HAVE CAREFULLY EXAMINED EVERY SINGLE STILL WE ARE OFFERING THIS WEEK ON EBAY, AND WE ARE 100% SURE THEY ARE ALL ORIGINAL (plus the original collector who assembled these stills was very knowledgeable, and he only bought original stills, and, for the most part, only bought stills from the very first release of each movie)! Dating stills can be very tricky, but we feel you have never been more assured of getting originals than you are in buying from us this week (but if you purchase any, and disagree with us as to release date or originality, you can return any, no questions asked!). WE TAKE THE "BUYER BEWARE" OUT OF BUYING VINTAGE STILLS (which, given the quality of current reproductions, is a very real concern, and which has caused collectors to be wary of buying vintage stills). But we take that fear away entirely (and of course, once you receive your purchase, you can return anything, no questions asked)!
We provide super-high quality scans of every still (in both a large size and a "super-size) so you can really see exactly what condition each still is in. This week only, we give everyone who buys at least one still, THREE of our great full-color $20 books as an added bonus, even if you just buy one inexpensive still! And every still stared at just 99 cents, with no reserve on any of them, even the ones that are super-rare. AND YOU SAVE BIG WHEN YOU BUY MANY STILLS FROM US THIS WEEK: We are frequent eBay buyers, and we know that when you buy 10 items from 10 different sellers, the shipping really mounts up, and can turn "good deals" into poor deals. For example, if you buy 10 stills for an average of $5 each, but pay $5 per still for shipping (because you bought from 10 different sellers) then you end up paying $100, and the cost of your stills doubles from $5 each to $10 each. BUT IF YOU BUY 10 STILLS FROM US THIS WEEK FOR $5 EACH, THEN YOU PAY $5 SHIPPING FOR ALL OF THEM (if you don't take the FREE books, or $8 if you take the FREE books), SO YOU END UP PAYING JUST $55 (or $58) FOR ALL, a savings of $42!
If you have even the slightest interest in vintage stills you should look these over, but even if you DON'T collect stills you might well be advised to look them over, as it is great fun to look at choice scene after choice scene, and many are from movies where you never find ANY movie paper!
I know it can be extremely difficult to look over 972 eBay items in just a few days which is why I listed the first 427 as ten day items to give you an extra three days to start looking! Best of all, this gallery is searchable! You will really find this a great benefit if you want to look at all of our items this week! You can simply browse all of our current items by viewing the images in this gallery (48 to a page) in our number order, or you can use our search to only see thumbnails of your specific search terms (in our number order)! NOTE THAT THIS GALLERY NOW HAS A RECENT BID PRICE LISTED BY EACH ITEM, AND THE PRICES ARE UPDATED AT LEAST ONCE A DAY! Of course if you prefer an "eBay-style" search, then use our special search located on our "About Me" page at http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/emovieposter.com/ This special search (located near the bottom of this page) searches JUST OUR ITEMS for stars or genres or whatever that you collect. We may have just one or two items you want among all our listings, and you can quickly find them using our special search! Remember that we put the genre, year, top three stars and director on EVERY film description, so if you use our special search for "Mae Clarke or "One Way Passage" or "Mario Bava" or "Gone With the Wind" or "Willian Wellman" or "1936" or "dog" or whatever, then you will find all of those items that we are selling this week!
It probably makes the most sense to look at the items in sections! If you try to look over all the lots we currently have listed at one time your eyes will probably start to glaze over. But if you look at just 200 (or 100) items at a time and then come back to it at a later time you will be far less likely to miss items you're interested in. You should also consider sorting the items by PRICE! OF COURSE THIS WORKS BEST RIGHT NEAR THE END OF THE AUCTIONS, after there has been a lot of bidding (and we currently have a bunch of "fixed price" posters on eBay that make sorting by price difficult right now, because those posters move to the top, but WE WILL BE ENDING THE FIXED PRICE ITEMS MONDAY MORNING, and then you will be able to see just the stills. Sorting by price is really helpful if you are just looking for the best items among those that are currently listed. Or look at just the lowest priced items (by looking at those at the start of the list when sorted by price). This is really helpful if you are most hoping to find some great deals!
