After reading about the record prices and the dangers of
high priced collectibles the last few days, I'm going to go
on record here with the unpopular notion that with the possible
exception of the House of Frankenstein TC, I don't think there
was a single record setting price in any of the first 80 lots in
Bruce's auction Saturday.
A few of the late number Realart TitleCards seemed to sell for
a higher price than when they were last offered, but as far as
actual Universal paper is concerned, I would suggest that there
were far more bargains than there were high prices, with a great
percentage of the material selling below established prices from
other dealers and auctions.
