Saul:

I am not necessarily a newbie in that I have collected posters since
1982, but I share your basic orientation and appeal within the hobby,
with one additional caveat....I not only seek posters with image appeal,
but also with sentimental value to me in the movie going/watching
experience. My first poster was "Raiders of the Lost Ark". I have fond
memories in the late 50's and early sixties of watching the barrage of
Ma and Pa Kettle movies and Tarzan movies that came on Saturday
afternoons...and at times in New England during the winter, you watched
a good amount of Saturday TV. I have a healthy collection of both Tarzan
and Ma and Pa Kettle, with decent images on them. Although the movie
was no prize winner, the image for "Masters of the Universe" is great
one . Ditto "Assault on a Queen" and "Teenage Caveman".

I get much more satisfaction looking up an image I enjoy seeing for a
"zero" movie than staring at something supposedly of high collectible
value that does nothing for me from a movie art or image appreciation
point of view.

Whatever floats your boat..
