Maybe they're not quite as uncommon as you think.
I was in Wal-Mart today and heard this over the speakers:
"Hello Shoppers! Fresh bread is available in the bakery on sale two for 99 cents. Pick up a couple of loaves for dinner. We also have a sale on 24-Sheets to BARBARELLA with Jane Fonda. Buy one and get a second at half price. Decorate a house or and entire apartment complex! Aisle 7: Cutlery, Vacuum Cleaners, and Movie Posters. The prices are always dropping at Wal-Mart. Thank you!"
When I got to Aisle 7 they were gone. Some toad-faced slob in pink stretch pants with a sprayed-on lacquered beehive and two screaming brats in the cart grabbed the last two. That's so typical.
