IMDB says for THE PARADINE CASE that it Premiered December 31, 1947, followed by a New York run starting January 8, 1948.
Yes, IMDB cannot be counted 100% (it is pretty darn good though) but checking the Release Dates section of these types of films will usually reveal a year-end release, with the bulk of the film's vieing being done the following year.
I don;t know. Maybe the thinking was putting 1947 on a poster for a film that would mainly be showing in 1948 may give the viewers the impression they are watching an old movie!

Often I find titles listed on IMDB are usually off by
a year or so for some reason.
I may have a poster dated 1948 but IMDB will list it
as 1947, etc.
Beats me?
