Well, if Kirby bought it, that explaines the high price. He probably has a buyer looking for it, willing to pay four to five thousand or more for it. Kirby buy's it for under three and makes a profit.

Cinerama posters are getting increasingly harder to find.  Actually, looks like Kirby bought it and he specializes in large paper. I have seen some of them sell for a few hundred dollars in the past but never over two thousand.
