There actually IS a way to send a text message to
eBay. You must follow these steps exactly:
1) Sign in and go to the security & resolution
center at:
and click on "Report Another Problem"
2) then you get the three boxes where you have to
select something:
Box 1 - select "Report problems with other eBay
members"
Box 2 - select "Problems with sellers (or buyers,
depending)"
Box 3 - select "The problem you've having with your
seller isn't listed"
Click Continue
3) Now you get a CONTACT US screen that says
"Instant Help" and shows you one of more links to click on that are
supposed to help you -- DO NOT click on any of these links, you'll just be
wasting your time. Instead, scroll down below the links, look for "Customer
Support Options" and below that look for a very tiny link that says,
simply "Email" -- click on *that* and, finally, you will get a form that lets
you actually send a text message to eBay.
Of course, they've never done anything about what
I've reported this way... but maybe if you put the words FEE AVOIDANCE over and
over again in all caps in the message that will get someone's
attention.

Great work and I know it takes work. Ebay isn't the easiest
place to send alerts. Most of the forms are pretty general and you can't type
any text in them, you just have to list item numbers and hope the person
reviewing them figures out what you are talking about. If anyone knows of
another way that will get some action, I would so love to hear from you.
There is a guy on ebay who sells regular posters, but he also consigns all
different kind of items for companies. He tried selling frames, not movie
poster frames, just ready made frames, about a year ago and had no luck. About
a month ago he began flooding the category with this cheapy frame he is
selling. The kicker is he lists them at .99 and then lists the shipping at $39
and up for a little 8x10 frame. The obvious is circumventing ebay fees,
flooding a category with more than 10 of the same item. Unfortunately,
the only way to report the guy is 10 auctions at a time and he has close to
200 auction on any given day in the movie poster frame category alone (he
doesn't even sell movie poster frames but he includes it in his title and
there it is). This guy has over 3000 negative feedbacks that usually mention
that the item either never arrived or took weeks or months to get and many
mention the exorbitant shipping fees. He gets almost 4 pages of feedbacks a
day (over 100), so that gives you an idea of how much product he is moving if
only a small percentage of buyers even leave feedback. His listing information
is very convoluted and confusing.
Now, the other guy in the movie poster frame category, (this is the
one that copies my text, tells customers that his plastic frame will protect
their collectables, and went and bought up all the domain names that are
misspellings of my company name, a real gem of a guy), has gone in
and lowered the cost of his items and increased his shipping rates to compete
with the first guy. Unfortunately, the category has gone from a few pages
daily to about 11-12 pages of product lately with these two guys fighting each
other. Both are violating ebay policies, but you'd need a full time person
just to sit there at the computer looking up their auction numbers and
reporting them.
It is a major annoyance and an obvious attempt to defraud the buyer in
one form or another. Unfortunately, though, there are always going to be
people out there that will say or do anything to sell their items including
lying and fraud. I've been in this hobby for over 30 years and have watched
this problem grow and grow. It used to be that someone's word meant
something. There are still a lot of great and honest people out there,
especially in our own hobby, but even if there were only a few stinkers, it's
too much, and there aren't only a few. Hope everyone is well. Take

MOPO to this seller last month.
Slow shipping (measured in
months), non-delivery, gross misrepresentation of
items, empty
packages--a great way to build your business. I know, it's not
his fault
and everyone is out to get
him.
