Since every time Heritage has a special auction event, someone non-affiliated with Heritage pops up on MOPO to tell us about it, I feel it is only reasonable to assert my own non-affiliated status and pass through to MOPO some event information that Bruce just sent out, because, man, I'm tellin' ya... this is one incredible Halloween auction. Of course, as usual, I won't win anything I bid on -- but even if you're only browsing, this batch of 1,929 posters (!) is just too much. View the catalog at:

...and leave it Bruce to come up with yet another way to generate bids... in his own words:

"I also came up with a fun way for those of you who say you never ever win
anything to have a GUARANTEED way to get a set of all 26 of my in-print $20
full-color movie poster books, and you may be able to do it without
spending very much, if any money!

Here's the offer.  Go to the 1,929 items.  Simply place bids on any 500 of
them (no matter how low, even 99 cents each), and I will give you the 26
books, no matter how many or how few of the items you win.  This may sound
like you are risking $500 or more to get the set of books, but that is not
at all true.  There are at least 1,000 items that will surely sell for $20
or more each (and hundreds that will sell for at least $100 each).  You can
bid a couple of dollars on those kinds of items, and how can you lose?  If
you somehow get any of them for a couple of dollars, great, and as long as
you get the 500 bids placed, you will get the 26 books as well!

There is one very important condition.  You won't get the set of books
unless you place 500 bids, and the auctions have ended and you have paid
for any items you were the high bidder on.  So please be 100% sure that you
intend to honor every single bid you place, if somehow you are the high
bidder on any of those items.  REMEMBER THAT EVERY SINGLE ITEM TRULY HAS NO
RESERVE AT ALL, so ANY bids you place can end up winning you that item (no
hidden reserves or unsold items in these auctions).

I estimate it will take around two to three hours for even an experienced
eBay bidder to place 500 bids, so decide whether it is worth that much time
to you to be GUARANTEED of getting the 26 books.  Of course, you will be
getting to look at an incredible group of great items, so it won't exactly
be "hard labor", but it is for each of you to decide if you want to do
this.  And please be careful to keep on an eye on how much you bid on each
item (make sure you don't forget to put a decimal point and bid, say $149,
instead of $1.49!).

I have no idea how many of you will decide to do this, but as I said this
is a GUARANTEED way of getting the 26 books, and it only requires a few
hours of your time!  As I said, this just came to me as a way that those of
you who never WIN anything could have a GUARANTEE of winning.

Incidentally, if you would like to bid using our Bruce Hershenson eBay
Auction Gallery (which is located at http://tinyurl.com/89qn2 and which has
large thumbnails of all our eBay items, and links from each item to the
actual eBay auction, know that it won't be available until all of our
auctions have started."
