this will be my first letter that goes out to all the selling members
of movieposterbid.com
As JR said in his email, there won't be any changes to the
"philosophy" of movieposterbid.com.
everyone will be able to continue listing as sellers in an open
source forum just as they had before. Listing fees will not be
changing. They will remain at ZERO. During the transition & into the
middle of April there will also be no selling fees for sold
auctions. So in other words, for the time being, YOU WILL HAVE NO
FEES FOR SELLING ON THE SITE
There will however be many changes. Changes that I think all sellers
& buyers will absolutely love.
First, I have a great advertising campaign lined up. In the April
issue of Classic Images the wonderful ad at this link below will
appear promoting the site with the following 2 ads cycling in during
successive months.

In addition to these ads appearing in Classic Images, Movie
Collector's World & Big Reel, they will also be given out at movie
poster & comic book conventions all over the world. Through these
promotions I hope to increase membership in movieposterbid.com to
25,000 members in 2006. This will only help you, the seller to make
real money selling on movieposterbid.com & also to enlarge the
community at large.Anyone who wishes to distribute flyers please
contact me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] & I'll get an advertising &
promotion pack out to you Free of charge of course.
PLUS there will be many improvements to the site within the coming months.
The programmer is currently working on a major upgrade to the
software. These improvements include a store function which should be
up before the end of March. We have re-implemented an instant buy
option called I'll Take it ! This feature is already live.
We are also going to be working on the 2 most important additions to
the site (aside from members). A bulk lister & a bid sniper. The Bulk
lister will hopefully be available very soon, the sniper will be a
little longer. For those of you familiar with Auction Sentry for
sniping on eBay, the programmer - Dan Hite - will be creating a
sniper for movieposterbid.com. This alone will easily increase
bidding on the site.
Also, we will be introducing a companion comic book & collectibles
auction site at http://www.comicbidz.com which will be operational
sometime during April 2006
The addition of this site will increase membership in both sites
simultaneously and any member registered on one site will be
registered on the other site automatically, plus all searches will
cross-reference both sites & give cross-indexed results. So if
someone searches for James Bond on movieposterbid.com, you will get a
list of results for movie posters & below those results will be a
list of items on comicbidz.com that match your query creating a
cross pollination of fans to help increase business.
But there's still more!
I have already been in contact with many major sellers who I know
personally. I won't mention their names yet as we are still working
on many things, but I can say that movieposterbid.com will be hosting
"Special Event Auctions" from major sellers starting very soon.
Each special event will be a single seller auction of great items in
all price ranges including some truly great & rare posters. I already
have 2 special events lined up to July & August & am still working on
getting a special event as soon as May. Each event auction will be
promoted in advertising for 8-10 weeks in advance so fans like
yourselves can see what great items will be for auction at that event
and these events will without a doubt create much talk about the site.
But don't think that during these special events that the site will
be closed to other sellers as it won't. The special event auctions
are designed to create site traffic so that fans will see all the
great items for sale on the site which can only mean higher bids &
better sales for all sellers who have posters listed during that
time. Don't even think of not joining in for these events, they're
going to help everyone who sells on the site.
We will also be creating a section on the site for News & Articles on
poster collecting. Anyone out there who is a good author & wants to
get some extra exposure please get in touch with me as I need all the
help I can get. Writers & reporters wanted!
