JR,

I have bgsound on all of my auctions and have done so for over 7 years. The consensus based on many Emails from my bidders/buyers are that they "love it". Many have said they keep going back to the auction just to here the music. Many want to know the name of the "tune". There are midi's out there that are "tinny", but many have a quality sound. That is why there are 100's of midi sites on the net. Possibly, the type of sound system you are using could effect the quality,

I, quite, frankly, have had only two negative comments reference the music in seven years, and of course, your dislike, makes three..............however, as I have said, many positive Emails.

The bottom line, as David possibly shares...............I enjoy finding just that right sound for a particular auction. It is time consuming and, perhaps, not worth the effort in terms of return, but.........I enjoy music and it's fun! .......I'm sure if someone goes on to one of my auctions and does not want to hear the sound, they simply "turn the knob".............

Your thoughts were certainly interesting and thought provoking!  ......and did motivate me to look at David's auctions (see below).............some real nice stuff, and David! I like the sound; haha.............Vaughn

David,

Nice selection of card sets at super starting prices... just two questions:

Why 10-day auctions? I have never understood the rationale behind them. When I see an auction 9 or 10 days out I promptly move on, thinking "I'll check back later when it's closer to closing..." but often don't remember to do so.

How do you turn off the music on your auction pages? When trying to evaluate and make a decision on if I want to bid or not, having tinny music constantly cycling in my head is distracting and somewhat irritating (at least to me). Maybe if the tune just played once when the page is first opened and then stopped?
