Steve,
OK, that tears it for me. A vehement response like that to your simple
request means that believeinmovies knows full well that the PULP FICTION
is a reprint and is deliberately trying to pass it off as an original.
Still almost impossible to prove to eBay and get them to take any action on it
of course -- but, I hereby officially recant any defense I might have made of
this seller yesterday. This is the kind of response you only get from a seller
who knows he's dealing in fakes.

Clinton,
Excuse me for going on a rant here, but I hate
dealers who sell the Pulp Lucky Strikes reprints, so...
I know (because
I've bought six of them) that one of the easiest ways to ascertain the Pulp
Fiction Lucky Strikes is a reprint is by the "dust", or small white flecks in
Uma's cleavage in the poster. BAM! You've got those, and you've
got a guaranteed fake! Here was his response when I asked for an
up-close image of that area of the poster, mind you, fully describing to him
what I am looking for before the request:
Me: "Could
you send me exact dimensions and a close-up picture of Uma's cleavage? Common reprints have some "dust" or "white
flecks" instead of solid flesh tone."
Believeinmovies: "What is wrong with you? A
close up of her cleavage? What are you some kind of pervert? Specks on her
flesh??? I have reported you to E-Bay and I hope you get suspended. Also
you have been to our blocked bidder list. Please don't contact us again. This
is a serious business. We have a 100% reputation for six years and are not
here to play games."
I also asked for exact dimensions of the poster,
which are never mentioned in his reply either. This is someone who knows
that I know what to look for, and is trying (albeit not very hard) to come up
with some original response to a) get out of sending the image and/or sending
me the dimensions, and b) never having to deal with me again. Wow, I
thought I was just asking a dealer for some easy information to authenticate
his copy for sale. Guess not.
My opinion would be to stay as far
away from this dealer as possible. That's just my opinion, and even if
he does offer a money-back guarantee, is it worth all the trouble? Buy
from dealers you trust and know. If they ever refuse to answer a single
question, ditch 'em. An honest dealer would make every attempt to answer
ANY question you have, and even if he doesn't know the answer, he should at
least be telling you that, and that he's going to try to find out for
you. Anyone who calls me a pervert can go, um, sell to someone
else.
Oh, and I don't have to assume anything is original unless I know
different. This isn't "All posters are presumed original until proven
reprints." I need proof that a poster is original before I hand over my
credit card, especially when I'm going
to shell out $750 for an original Pulp Fiction Lucky Strikes recalled advance,
with NO Miramax stamp on the back.
By the way (last comment), it should
be a freakin' huge clue that these so-called original Lucky Strike styles are
selling for $24.95 Buy It Now. Yeah, right.
