My first thoughts when you sent that site to MOPO was, of course, checking
it out and "B's" auctions were, of course, a great test
target..........haha........Guess what, it worked!
The second thought was that the "goof" site was out there now for all to
see and that would, I'm sure, upset the "fella" I checked and assumed
there would be some quick action...........
There was, wasn't there...................But, it was fun, one upping Ebay,
if only for a single occasion.......................Vaughn

Well, it looks I was wrong. Ebay apparently has targeted this website
directly. This just appeared on Goofbay today:
Quote: As some of you are aware we have been in constant communication
with eBay regarding our tools and service to you the general ebay
public. eBay have objected to a number of our tools and we have
reasoned and tweaked the tools to try to fit in with eBay policies.
Unfortunately our API (our programming interface to eBAy) access has
been removed and as a direct result, none of our tools now work. We
are not sure why eBay has revoked our access without dialogue, it may
be because they object more strongly to the tools than they have told
us thus far.
We are keen to re-instate our access and re-enable the tools we have,
we are therefore asking our community to show their support by adding
their email address to our petition that if the need arises and we do
not get back our API access we will show them the community
solidarity.
Since Bruce H suddenly has all kinds of new information about the
limitations of private auctions, I suspect he did in fact have a long
talk/rant/squeal with ebay about this site in particular, just as some
have suspected would be the case.
And in large part, this is probably my fault (with a bit of credit going
to Ari, and also the NSFGE and MoPo membership) for shining the spotlight
on this 'service'.
I had assumed that this website had some clever programmers that were able
to work around the 'private' auction feature. But instead, it looks like
they were just abusing their developer privileges.
I'm still stunned, though. As always, there's no proof of who did what,
but in view of past events, there's little doubt in my mind that
Hershenson is at least in part responsible.
