I want to make sure all MoPo members are aware of the 597
non-U.S. posters (from 21 different countries, including a LOT of
"better" titles) that I have on eBay closing Tuesday night (7/18).
What is included in this weeks items? A pretty amazing assortment of
posters from 21 countries all over the world, with two special
collections included, one a really excellent collection of 222
Japanese posters, and separately, an excellent collection of 102
Polish posters.
Are you one of the few collectors who have not yet
discovered the wonderful movie posters from these two countries? If
so, we urge you to carefully look at both of these great collections,
and consider adding at least one of each to your collection. Most
Japanese and Polish posters have completely different images from
those printed in the U.S., and they are often superior to the
corresponding U.S. poster. It is interesting to note that Polish
posters are often very surreal, and sometimes have next-to-no
connection to the movie they are advertising (in some cases, it seems
that the poster artist was told the NAME of the movie, but nothing
else about the movie, and they created whatever image that title
suggested to them, and many Polish posters have really striking, and
often dark images that can be displayed and enjoyed, even if you are
not at all a fan of the movie they advertise). WARNING! Once you buy
a few of these, you are in danger of becoming "hooked", and you may
find you need to keep purchasing them on a regular basis. If this
happens to you, don't say we didn't warn you!
You'll also find a lot of quality Italian posters, including
locandinas (like U.S. inserts, but almost always with cool artwork),
"one-sheets", and photobustas (several difference sizes, some
individuals, and some sets). There are also 10 very rare "long"
Australian daybills, around 60 unfolded German posters, plus lots of
interesting and rarely offered posters from Finland, Mexico,
Huingary, Denmark, Czechoslovakia, Canada, East Germany, Russia,
Spain, Belgium, Yugoslavia, England, France, The Netherlands, and
Turkey! What these posters are in common is that a huge percentage of
them will have artwork and design that is new and you (often unique
to that particular country) and often far superior to that of the
corresponding U.S. posters. In addition to the above non-U.S.
posters, we have four cool U.S. posters, one a great 1915 stone
litho, one a World War Two Air Force poster, and two really wacky
circus posters, and these are at the very start of the listings
You'll find a selection of posters suited to EVERY budget. This is
one large auction of non-U.S. movie posters that does not have a "For
Millionaires Only" sign outside the entrance! Once you look at the
posters for yourself, you will quickly see what a great variety of
posters there are, covering all years and genres. REMEMBER THAT EVEN
THOUGH THERE ARE LOTS OF GREAT POSTERS THIS WEEK, every single one of
these items started at just 99 cents with no reserve so there will be
surely many real bargains and quite likely some outright steals! As
of this writing (Saturday night), over 135 of these 597 items are
still at their starting price of 99 cents(!), around 275 are still
under $3, around 365 are under $8, around 450 are under $12, and
around 500 are under $20! And most of the 100 or so items that are
over $20 are FAR under their regular retail price (the ones you could
find anywhere else). And there are a HUGE percentage of items that
retail for $25 or $50 or more which are still at just a dollar or two each!
Obviously, many of these items will get one or more additional bids,
but given the very large number of such items I am selling, it is a
virtually certainty that a fair number will fall between the cracks
and go for low prices (and some for joke prices!). But YOU can't get
those great deals if you aren't bidding! AND YOU HAVE NOTHING TO
LOSE! If you place a bunch of fairly low bids but only get one or two
items, then you are sure to be happy, for you will have gotten some
really good deals, and paid a very reasonable shipping cost (we only
charge a sliding $5.50-$10 U.S. shipping cost, depending on the total
AMOUNT you spent, not the total number of posters, so you can likely
buy 10 very inexpensive posters and still only pay $5.50 U.S.
shipping for all of them). Even if you place a bunch of bids and get
nothing at all, you will only be out a little of your time, and no
more (since this is one substantial auction of non-U.S. movie posters
you don't need to travel to, or even leave your computer for!).
REMEMBER THAT IN THESE AUCTIONS (as in all my online auctions), THERE
ARE NO OUTRAGEOUS BUYER PREMIUMS! Other auctions charge around 20%
EXTRA, for no other reason than to line their pockets with your
money, and some even have a $9 minimum buyer premium, so that a $1
purchase carries a NINE HUNDRED PER CENT buyer premium!. In these
auctions, what you bid is what you pay, plus the actual cost of
getting the items to you, plus $2 for packaging materials. If you
have ever bought from any other major auction company, you are
probably still stunned by their buyer premiums and by how much
handling fees they packed onto their shipping charges, but we never do that!
I know it can be difficult to look over this many items in just a few
days, but remember you can use our exclusive Current Auction Image
Gallery (which is located at
http://www.emovieposter.com/gallery/currentauctions.php ) which has
large thumbnails of all our eBay items, and links from each item to
the actual eBay auction. Best of all, this gallery is searchable! You
will really find this a great benefit if you want to look at all of
our items this week! You can simply browse all of our current items
by viewing the images in this gallery (40 to a page, but you can set
it to display 20 items to a page or up to 100 items a page, depending
on the speed of your Internet connection) in our number order, or you
can use our search to only see thumbnails of your specific search
terms! NOTE THAT EACH ITEM IN THIS GALLERY HAS A RECENT BID PRICE
LISTED, AND THE PRICES ARE UPDATED AT LEAST ONCE A DAY! THIS GALLERY
CAN BE SORTED BY PRICE (high to low or low to high), WHICH IS A GREAT
HELP TO THOSE OF YOU WANTING TO JUST FOCUS ON THE BEST (or least
expensive) ITEMS! I urge all of you to go to our gallery this week
and at least glance over all the large thumbnails, EVEN IF YOU THINK
YOU HAVE NO INTEREST IN BIDDING ON THESE ITEMS! Why do I say this?
Because it is fun to window shop when you are looking at this
well-organized gallery, especially given all the many wonderful items
we are selling this week (it is likely many of them will have images
you have never seen before)!
Be sure to check out these 597 non-U.S. posters (from 21 different
countries, including a LOT of "better" titles) sometime before they
end Tuesday night, July 18th, starting at around 7 PM CST (either by
going to http://www.emovieposter.com/gallery/currentauctions.php or
by using the link from my HOME page, http://www.emovieposter.com or
by finding me by my eBay user ID, emovieposter.com). We feel certain
that if you purchase even one of them and then once you see how
honestly we describe them and how we charge only a very reasonable
shipping cost and how we send them right out promptly and
well-packed, that you will declare your independence from those
auction houses with the outrageous buyers premiums, the over-graded
items and the outrageous shipping! Good luck on whatever you may bid on.
Also note that we had some problems with our website and our e-mail
over the past couple of months. We have switched to a new server, and
that SEEMS to have solved our problems. But just to be double safe,
we have inactivated the Poster Image Archive and our Sales Results
Database on our website, for a week or so, just until we can be
relatively certain that our new server is stable and does not have
the problems our old server did, and then we will add those databases
back. Note that this has (and has had) no effect on the items we
sell! WE ARE COMPLETELY UP TO DATE IN SENDING ORDERS, AND WE SHOULD
HAVE NO FURTHER PROBLEMS, BUT WE WANTED TO ALERT YOU TO WHAT HAS BEEN
HAPPENING (and why those two databases are unavailable), EVEN THOUGH
THIS WILL HAVE NO EFFECT ON ANY OF THE POSTERS YOU MAY PURCHASE FROM
US THIS WEEK!
One final thing.I have a GREAT free e-mail club for movie poster
collectors AND I HAVE HAD IT FOR 7 YEARS! OVER THE YEARS I HAVE GIVEN
AWAY OVER 300 COMPLETE SETS OF 26 OF MY SOFTCOVER FULL-COLOR MOVIE
POSTER BOOKS (a $509.96 retail value) AS A BONUS TO OVER 300 CLUB MEMBERS!
For the past six years I have assembled whatever e-mails I receive
from club members and send them out along with my comments to all the
members of the club. I started with 43 members and now have over
3,400! In addition to the e-mails that come in from members, I also
sometimes make special offers only to the members of the club (a
while ago I offered club members three of my best books for just $20,
a $64.99 value, and I also had a recent club contest that only 29
people participated in each so I gave EVERY entrant a FREE $20 book
for entering!).
I am inviting you to join (if you are not already a member,
and certainly a LOT of those receiving this e-mail already are!). All
you have to do is send me an e-mail (to [EMAIL PROTECTED]) with
your full name and the words "sign me up in the club" in the subject
or body of your e-mail and I'll send you the latest message. It costs
nothing to join, and your address is never given out, so you can't
get any of those annoying unwanted e-mails from others that most
lists generate, and of course you can quit any time.
