Dear MOPO's,

I asked Dan Zimmer, the publisher of Illustration Magazine http://www.illustration-magazine.com/ of the status of the 2003 or aound 2004 announced "Reynold Brown" book. Please see Dan's reply below. Maybe MOPO can send some requests to Dan to get this project moving forward. Maybe you are also a member of other movie poster clubs like NSFG or Style-B and could ask for some assistance to help getting this book published. As almost everyone knows, Reynold Brown's career was featured in an edition of Cinefantastic Magazine by Stephen Rebello. It was an excellent long article of his career. The artist Reynold Brown designed over 500 posters like Attack of the 50ft Woman, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Time Machine, This Island Earth, Against All Flags, and many other 50s and 60s Sci-Fi, Horror, and many other genres. You can also see some of his art work and a partial list on Reynold Brown's son Franz Brown's we! bsite at: http://www.geocities.com/chapulinas/reynold00.htm.
AMC also produced a one hour documentary of Reynold Browns work. Dan Zimmer's email address is [EMAIL PROTECTED].
I hope many poster collectors can send or assist Dan on his project. I was asking to add an appendix of all his movie posters designed with an image attached. This would be just an amazing accomplishment. See Dan's reply below. If you have any other ideas, please let me or Dan know.

Your fellow Poster Collector,
Philipp

""Dear Philipp,
Thank you for your inquiry.
This project is on hold for now, but will be moving ahead again in the future. I have a writer working on it, and of course all of the prepress and pictures already exist. It is just a matter of assembling all of this material into something. We hope to do something with it in the next year.
Sorry to keep you waiting. Please stay tuned to the website and the magazine for further announcements. It WILL happen eventually.
Best,
Dan Zimmer
Hi Philipp,
I was planning on trying to do such an appendix. I acquired
photographs of as many of his posters as possible, but of course it
is nearly impossible to figure out ALL of the work that he did. We
have some of his records, but they are incomplete, and of course he
was mind-bogglingly prolific. We'll see how it goes. I have hundreds
of pages roughly designed, but I'm missing a quality text to go with
it! Maybe someday soon all of the pieces will fall together. Best, Dan Zimmer """
