I have been working on a Documentary about George Barris the King of
Kustomizers. We have a lot of George on camera and are now
scheduling many of his celebrity clients and friends to film segments
about George as he has worked with everyone from Sinatra to Elvis,
from Sonny to Cher, and from Dorothy Stratten to James Dean (who he
was with on that fateful day in September, 1955) and everyone in
between. George even has tales of Charles Manson who stole one of
his dune buggies that was later found on the Spahn Ranch outfitted
with machete's and shotguns. Charming.
Anywho, I just wanted to give any and everyone in the Southern
California area a heads up that this coming Saturday is the 5th
annual George Barris Kar show in Culver City. It is on May 10th and
starts at 9am and goes to 3pm. George will be there and will have
the Munster Koach there as well as the Batman car, Dragula and some
of his other cars from film and television. I believe it is free as
they just block off the streets in Culver City and display some
amazing hot rods and cool cars. A great time is had by all and it's
fun for the whole family. Also, George will sign anything...and I
mean ANYTHING!
