Channing,
I think you meant THE SECRET OF THE INCAS WITH Chuck Heston AND Yma
Sumac!

As much as I didn't care for the film, I enjoyed the fact that
Spielberg referenced earlier 1950s Hollywood films. As you recall,
in the original RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, the entrance to the tomb
(or whatever it was) rested on the light of the sun hitting a
certain place on the rock. This was a direct reference to SECRET
OF THE INCAS (PARAMOUNT 1954 with Chuck Heston). In the newest
film he references THE NAKED JUNGLE (PARAMOUNT 1954 with Chuck
Heston) what with the South American army ants. He must have seen
these film when he was probably around 8 years old. Incidentally,
Spielberg and I grew up in the same town (Scottsdale, AZ) and went
to the same movie theatre when we were children (The Kiva).
