The interesting thing to me about this auction is that the seller states
that the poster has no yellowing and is as bright as the day it was printed.
Then he goes on to show photos of the front of the poster and the back of the
poster where yellowing is definitely evident 'as it should be' for a poster of
this age. He says that "posters do not yellow if they are not exposed to light,
smoke or moisture", which is untrue. Posters were not printed on acid free
paper as they were made for cheap advertising, not as a collectable. They will
yellow over time even if you put them on a table in a dark room and never open
the door for 20 years. That is because they have acid in them and the paper is
deteriorating as we speak. Now there are ways to slow down that deterioration
and decay as many of us know.
I think the seller didn't even need to include that information. Perhaps he
is so paranoid from being associated with the "minty whites" that he feels he
has to defend his product no matter what it's origins, and that is evident by
the rest of his listing where he gives you a full history of his business. I
have had dealings with this seller early on in Ebay history. I bought a poster
that was of good value for a very low price, paid for it, waited to hear from
the seller, several days passed and then I was told the poster I bought was in
a van that was stolen over the weekend. About 2 months later, there was the
same poster for sale on Ebay again. I emailed the seller and never got a
response. This has been years ago. Never bought from him again.
My shop is right next to Van Nuys, which is the address listed on the back
of the poster. The stamps look legit. So, the poster looks original. I just
found the whole "yellowing" disclaimer interesting.

Far be it from me to judge a poster based solely on the auction's
description, but I would think anyone that starts out his description defending
it against possible reprint trademarks is a bad idea. And it has stamps on the
back!! Where have we seen this before? Oh, and not only is it original,
rolled, and in absolutely perfect condition, but it's also a misprint, which
makes it even more valuable? I mean, come on.
Honestly, it was only a matter of time before a perfect white, rolled copy of
this beloved, rare poster cropped up. It commands upwards of $1500+ when an
original does surface, so it only makes sense that this one would be put on the
old printing press. I could of course be wrong, so I am just asking for
opinions.
