michael,
do you have any art/drawing/shading experience? if not, and you
simply go out and decide to "color over" fold lines, etc. you will
make them look worse.

oil base, i assume???
(i have an insert of THE SPIRAL STAIRCASE, with a prominent top
fold. there are no images in the area; it is red/orange background
color with yellow letters.)
