Hi Alan, I was playing some of the village voices and the mother of the boy in the village. It was fun doing this project because they used myself and several other native american actors. I knew the writers who did the US version of Totoro so it was fun. They also did the version of Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle.
I got to meet Miyazake in Toronto for the premiere of Spirited Away and he was quite gracious and very classy. I got a couple of banners from the party which I love. His imagination is astounding. They are doing the US version of Ponyo now with different people and are going for big names. Look out for that one to come out shortly. Give thanks to John Lasseter (Pixar) who brought the Miyazake films to the U.S. He's a huge fan and a friend of Miyazake.
