Joe, maybe you have to be an old-timer *AND* a big Broadway fan to have liked it.
I thought the opening was a bit tacky, but Jackman is a true star who made it work. And Anne Hathaway was wonderful, and that bit was quite clever. I notice that Jackman and Hathaway had real chemistry, something sorely missing from so many current movies.
