I agree with Bruce and Phil here, this looks a theatrical stock
poster to me.
The Passion Play was produced live annually forever in the town of
Ober Amergau in Germany, and also in many other parts of the world.
Bruce: What do you mean WAS? To this day, they still have the annual
Passion Play in Oberammergau.
Also, they are pretty straight about it: A few weeks ago I read a
notice in our Berlin daily paper, that from that day on the actors
are not allowed to shave or to cut their hair until the Passion Play,
in order to make sure they have the proper 'ragged' look. This rule
applies ONLY for the Jews, though, which is the reason everybody
wants to be a Roman. I kid you not, this is a true story.
